But your comment is naive beyond belief. There is no "us versus them." We *are* the government, and the only way tyranny could ever erupt is if we allow it, and if we allow it then we deserve whatever consequences follow. Your gun theory is also antiquated beyond belief, but it is probably all that you are able to comprehend.

In a civilized society, the people form a government and then relegate their power to this government. It is something that is done by a free assent. We no longer solve disputes by picking up a weapon. We take the dispute to a court of law and then abide by the decision of the court whose proceedings are demanded by the people to be fair and impartial. You are advocating a giant step backward into barbarism, mob rule, and feuding. If you are concerned about personal protection then you have failed in your obligation to erect a strong and effective governing authority. You are the cause of your own helpless situation, and guns are, at best, only a weak, short-term solution.

A: A crisp salad, a hearty soup, a lovely entree, followed by a delicious dessert.

People that lump all people into a category, whether "conservative" or "liberal" are either dumb or biased. Such people wouldn't understand even Bayes theorem. -- Q: How many bureaucrats does it take to screw in a light bulb? A: Two. One to assure everyone that everything possible is being done while the other screws the bulb into the water faucet.

Regarding the 2nd amendment, it has got to be the most ridiculous article of democracy ever conceived. At the very best it is highly ANACHRONISTIC and within the modern world it is nothing short of INSANITY. The founding fathers were geniuses, there is no doubt, but they flopped big time with this one. But the 2nd amendment is just an amendment, and like that other ridiculous amendment, known as Prohibition, it can be revoked or overruled. But still, Amerika is chock full of neurotic retards and the elimination of handguns, or ALL firearms, would be more difficult than pulling teeth.

But morons like you would rather live under tyranny than put up a fight to defend your liberty or accept that it comes with a cost. Those Eurotards that you admire so much have even lost their national sovereignty to so-called economic alliance that has now morphed into a political overlord.

If it were not for that stupid, idiotic 2nd amendment then firearms would have been banned a LONG time ago, as they should be banned in any advanced civilization. But thanks to that stupid, idiotic 2nd amendment it will now require draconian and authoritarian measures to rid our society of that pestilence known as firearm ownership. > > And just how do you suppose we would be able to guarantee the other > freedoms without guns? > Through legitimate political means. Do you vote? Are you involved in the basic political process or do you just sip beer and plink tin cans until some "liberal" begins to threaten your precious handguns? I needed a new battery for my car. The price was $150.00. That's not a crippling amount but the price of lead should not be that high. What is the reason? It's those goddamned fucking shooters wasting their lead bullets by the billions. The same applies to copper. I recently paid almost $100 for 100 feet of 12-gauge copper cord. Why so high? It's those goddamned fucking shooters wasting billions of brass cartridges. This exorbitant waste has got to stop and it will stop. If not now then the next generations will be forced to take action.

But if there's more than one then they'll cut you down and leave you lying in a pool of coagulating blood. Your "loved ones" will be wailing in sorrow (until they cash the life insurance check). More likely a single low life will blow your sorry ass away before you can even remove your weapon from its holster. You can dream of being the victor but in reality it will not work as intended.

Exactly. The right to keep and bear arms had nothing to do with hunting. It had everything to do with keeping the government honest and non-intrusive. It's so much easier for a dictator to control unarmed citizens. -- The more I see of Windows, the more I like Linux.
