Nor do I! But I do believe in getting the best tool for the job - considering the intrinsic qualities of the tool, the price, etc. When Apple offers me the best choice I buy it. There really is no tool that would be anywhere near as cheap as my iMac that would serve me nearly as well. I agree with Porky Poaster. Apple's quality is mostly an illusion. For the same price, especially in the high-end laptop range, people who buy a Macbook Pro get something which can barely play the limited selection of games Apple offers to its customers. For the same price, a PC laptop would allow you to play the entire collection of Windows games quite comfortably because of superior GPU technology, a better processor and a superior motherboard. In most cases, you can also benefit from a warranty package in which a technician comes to your house to fix the problem for the same amount of time as AppleCare. The only drawback of the whole thing being that the laptop MIGHT not look as "pretty" as the Macbook and attract as many effeminate men. -- Silver Slimer Wikipedia & OpenMedia Supporter

When I was comparing $600 PCs to the Mac Mini, the shills told me I had to find a PC with Thunderbolt for $600. When I said that made the price of the Mac Mini at least $1000, they told me to use a cheap HDMI monitor with it. So pay for Apple's expensive proprietary interface, but don't use it so you can pretend Apple's prices are "comparable."

The difference is what you are looking at. People spend about 2x as much for Macs as they do Windows PCs (have seen recent stats that put it close to 2.5x). But that does not mean they cost more for *comparable* machines - with that, Macs generally rate very well. You pay more and you get more... Apple, Dell, HP, etc. Not a hard concept. -- * Mint MATE: Trash, Panel, Menu: <http://youtu.be/C0y74FIf7uE> * Mint KDE bugs or Easter eggs? <http://youtu.be/CU-whJQvtfA> * Mint KDE working with folders: <http://youtu.be/7C9nvniOoE0> * Mint KDE creating files: <http://youtu.be/N7-fZJaJUv8> * Mint KDE help: <http://youtu.be/3ikizUd3sa8> * Mint KDE general navigation: <http://youtu.be/t9y14yZtQuI> * Mint / LibreOffice: <http://youtu.be/USU9iqppfto> * Win 8 / Word 2013: <http://youtu.be/z8gUL2TCcV4> * Mavericks / Pages 5.1: <http://youtu.be/D3BPWANQoIk>

Tribble said that the term came from Star Trek. Later the term has also been used to refer to perceptions of his keynote speeches (or "Stevenotes") by observers and devoted users of Apple computers and products. The RDF was said by Andy Hertzfeld to be Steve Jobs' ability to convince himself and others to believe almost anything with a mix of charm, charisma, bravado, hyperbole, marketing, appeasement and persistence. -- Absolutely nothing should be concluded from these figures except that no conclusion can be drawn from them. -- Joseph L.
