Yea.
Ahlstrom took it pretty hard when Spamowitz sent him packing to the
curb.

Look here for one example the paranoia:

http://techrights.org/2014/05/09/microsoft-patent-trolls-pr/

"What we truly have a problem with is obscene media distortion. No
man bribes the press and even bribes blogs as much as Gates does."

I read the entire article... Holy Shit! Virtually every sentence is
some pie-in-the-sky lunacy and paranoia and lie.

"Gates even bribes The Guardian (millions of dollars paid to ensure he
never gets criticised there, not to mention a lot of anti-Google bias
these days)."

List of 235 articles about or mentioning Gates:
http://www.theguardian.com/technology/billgates

Took me about 1 minute to find this:

"Bill Gates preaches the aid gospel, but is he just a hypocrite?"

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/06/bill-gates-preaches-fighting-poverty-hypocrite-microsoft-tax

Spamowitz is a lying idiot, like so many Linux "advocates".

Possibly even the MOST dishonest. And that's quite a feat!

That article is quite simply insane.

Someone should send that to a mainstream paper for publication. How does
he get away with such bullshit?

Insane doesn't even begin to cover it.

Gates should sue.

Roy gets away with it because he's a crazy, lying smudge of shit that
nobody - except like-minded idiots Goob and Mark Bilk - reads or takes
seriously.

Part of proving libel is the lies have to harm the reputation of the
intended victim... but the only reputation being harmed here is Spamowitz's.

> Insane doesn't even begin to cover it.

It really doesn't. He's gone off the deep end, much worse than I
remember him from his cola days.

> Gates should sue.

I think so, too, but Gates is way too busy to worry about powerless
weenie naysayers like Spamowitz and Homer and Ballard.

Though it would be funny as hell to read about Spamowitz being
bankrupted by a libel suit filed by Gates.

Is it worse than mine (www.silverlips.ca)? In my case, I simply post
articles which demonstrate evidence that our "overlords" are spying on
us and I regularly recommend the use of GNU/Linux to escape that, free
software in particular. My hope is not to encourage paranoia as much as
it is to create a quick database of such articles.

Unfortunately, the NSA can crack and break into any system without
anyone being the wiser. Just my 2 cents.

The NSA already cracked Snit.

Which is more than Snit made last year.

Well, the FSF and RMS are both claiming that systems with software which
is exclusively free will keep you safe. I'm not sure how true that is
but it definitely removes the potential that your software is spying on you.

Software that spies on you is different from when they just want enter
and snoop around. Plus they gather everything that goes over the
internet anyway.
I think the only truly secure os out there are the big mainframes that
have good hardware and then OpenVMS, which you can't buy now, tho it is
still being sold only to the government.

Of course you are free to believe that, but I doubt that is the
reality. If you are on the internet with any OS and the NSA decides
they want to look at your system, you can nearly bet the farm that they
can and will do just that.

See Heart Bleed for examples.
There have been reports that the NSA knew about this bug for years
but never reported it.
I have my doubts, but anything is possible.

Regardless. If the NSA want to hack into your system they can. The SSL
bug was found. For all we know there are thousands of similar
loopholes. They continue to be found and they continue to be added
in. This many eyes shit is just that. The lack of formal methods being
used for proving a system in the Open Software is worrying for many.

Yep.
When organizations like the NSA, MI5, CIA etc are involved, both
methods can be exploited.

That and the fact that the Utah center is now using a quantum computer
system to do the cracking. If they are talking about it,... well it has
been done already.
