Not guessing, Chris... it is a fact.

Absolutely, I am guessing. But I'm guessing my guessing is more right

Hey, you changed your theme! Omega is actually cooler than the one you had previously (it's more of a framework theme, you can do a lot with it).

It is common with the COLA "advocates" - they already are tied to one
paranoid cult, it is not uncommon for them to be tied to others. All sorts
of insane "truther" movements where logic and evidence are ignored.

Agreed. It appears that chrisv doesn't want to realize that
without consistency of success, the entire field of marketing
and advertising could not exist.

Because you're savvy enough to not comment when you know

By an even more clear margin here, and with the
way that chrisv snips to avoid mere acknowledgement
of analysis and promptly reverts to lame Ad Hominem
attacks, he knows it too.

That's not really even the case with Windows, frankly. That's how Office
Depot and other companies can get away with fielding "geek squads" at
$80 or more a pop.

(Not sure about Apple's support, though there was a video about a lady
screeching about service at an Apple store).

<chuckle> Last week Office Depot's Sunday brochure offered, for $29.99,
to "remove trialware", "install anti-virus", and a couple of other services
for people who just bought their billy-box.

What a racket! The hardware vendor gets paid to install the trialware, and
Office Depot gets paid to remove it!

It is called 'business as usual'!! They identified an issue and came

I value my time and money. That's why I don't even bother removing the
trialware. I just slick the machine totally and install GNU/Linux.

A dozen or more times:

*Every* laptop I have bought started out as a "Windows" laptop.
<k1dkcg$tod$1@dont-email.me>

"As an aside, *every* laptop I've ever used, whether purchased by myself
or by the company or customer, has had Linux installed on it by myself,

about a dozen laptops that weren't running Windows."

I'm sure MS thanks you for your steadfast, long-term financial and

Yet you buy Windows machines and support the company you hate just to
save a few dollars.
And I wager you are dual booting anyway.
You are tied to Windows and you know it.

There you go. Now -- if you've bought a new machine -- you've got

And of course that is a valid solution also.

On the last 3 Windows boxes I've gotten, there was no trialware and not
much in the way of 'lite' applications either. The 2 with Windows 8
had the Bing stuff as would be expected (news, finance and so forth)
and I find them of value to me and I would suspect that many consumers
would. Business users probably wouldn't and I'd suspect the company
rollout would take care of getting all that off before the rollout.

You're "not sure" eh? Christ on a bike you're an arsehole of the worst
order. You KNOW Apple has great support just as you know there will
always be unsatisfied people with a grudge to wield.

He gets paid to stay out of the way of the real Windows coders at his
company.

Maybe someday when he grows up the programmers will let him sit at
their table in the cafeteria.

Yeah, that cheap Windows license has those hidden costs. Windows is
only inexpensive if your time has no value.

And Floyd defended it as "business as usual", and "a need was seen and a
service offered" (very rough paraphrase). Kind of like saying "two wrongs
make a right".

If Microsoft went into the public square and started strangling kittens,
"Lloyd" would find a way to defend them. He's sycophant and a toady, with
his lips alternately sewn to Microsoft's and Apple's butts. He only wishes
he had two sets of lips.
