Moi Gave Up on Video Editing in Linux

Some idiot had doubled up on a video making it over 3 hours in duration. So far none of the video editors had particularly worked, which could have been related to the 3 hour long duration. Fortunately, the putz had used the WRONG video title.

Thus, It dawned on me to search under the correct name. Bingo! I found the correct video with the correct duration and downloaded it.

Now, that 3-hour vid is history.

That is the way of using Linux. You always have to work around stupid shit, like a bunch of video editors NOT being remotely easy to use on the simplest of functions.

owl the putz rodent.

William Poaster proved himself to be a liar by claiming he would not speak to Steve Carroll through emphatically trumpeting 'goodbye forever!' and then ambushing him anyway through another poster.

Lots of individuals continue replying to William Poaster. To be honest, I can't chide Steve Carroll for being pissed but, in the end, I can not conceive why he writes here after all this nonsense. Steve Carroll is more interested in discussions as seen in an IRC forum and free groups just will never work for him. GNU/Linux's update system failed over and over again.

Where did you find your scripts?

Being an open format as it is, usenet will never go away but it'll never be common for the general user.

His dream is to see me annoyed by nonstop flooding. And hey, that could kill this group. Does Sandman believe the crap Snit is posting? If Snit calls having his lies quoted by numerous people 'trolling', then whatever... he is a great troll. I can not go along with that definition, I use another term. I call Snit a perfect loon. He'd have to have Alzheimers to be unsure of if he "rarely had" purchased Forth. When a guy can't be consistent with his story and applies fake, face saving malarkey later, it's rather undeniable what his game is. A sucking vacuum of ideas, magnified by the reciprocal of an infinite twin prime, demonstrating the vast nothingness of the main character's so-called thought process.

This is something the mainstream media never covers.

I got what I wanted, Putz. I simply used YouTube, rather than Linux for the solution.

I did notice a disturbing trend, however. The APPs in Mint's Software Manger are extremely out of date. I did better simply searching on the Web.

OneShot Video Editer worked the best. Still, nothing appeared to be working at all. But at least OneShot did NOT lock up my computer. Here again, a 3 hour long vid was NOT best test video to be working on. I was NOT remotely interested in editing videos anyway, but I once did it successfully in WindowsXP. So, I have a good idea what a simple video editor should look like. I simply wanted to cut a video in half at the one hour 53 minute and 10 second mark.

Furthermore, the multiple logon feature in Mint has STOPPED working. I am permanently stuck, now, in Mate and can no longer switch to Cinnamon, NOT that I really want my computer to overheat.

Plus, no upgrade path to version 19 has been provided. I do believe that I would have be in Cinnamon to a proper upgrade, which is now impossible. Ergo, I will have to do a fresh install when it gets to that point.

I have worked in or with the computer repair business for more than 35 years. I've worked with large OEMs making deals with the automotive industry and police forces. Never, not one single time, was I on any account told not to load any version of Linux. We sold AIX, CP/M, QNX, etc. in addition to Windows on our hardware. Ha, ha!

The one skill Meat learned fully is to work to guilt Steven Carroll into back peddling and if that does not work, troll so hard the thread is ignored or dishonesty change the goalpost. What Steven Carroll does is certainly technically correct. Can you get less dishonest?

Assuming the 2nd point comes after the 1st in the timeline, you can extract
from any point to any other point?

It's a long, long story, and Onion Knight is simultaneously unable to stop his trolling remarks, while posting with forgeries of Sandman. The pathological liar does it every time. Then the flood begins. Because the milksop just has to run to other groups. Onion Knight is far too idiotic to write a MATE script. The only scripting he's capable of doing is flooding groups. What is your evidence? You've proven that it is Onion Knight.

Now that nobody is responding to Onion Knight, he's making it sound like he's broken MATE -- when in fact, people are just sick of his shit.

So, I have a good idea what a simple video editor should look like. I simply wanted to cut a video in half at the one hour 53 minute and 10 second mark.

Then it should suffice for his goal, in fact, this is preferable given that
he doesn't have to learn an app just to do the one thing he wants.

But the Script Troller feels the need to belittle the herd.

Does Troll Killer Snit even believe the lies the Script Troller is spewing?

Why would you want to restrict any applications on Linux to what can be done on lower end systems?

I am not going to pretend Troll Killer Snit did not assist me with scripting and I am indebted to him for his knowledge. the Script Troller has this thread to examine and might start to seem like he has a clue from here on... of course he made an ass of himself when it mattered. the Script Troller gets off on that Troll Killer Snit is on the other end. Imagine if the Script Troller walked up to a wall and delivered the punch line. It wouldn't be funny.

With no evidence at all, as is the norm for the Script Troller. It's like a poorly written flyer. the Script Troller has already decided what he is going to say before he calls. What you say is beside the point. What Troll Killer Snit says just a reaction.

For me it is often screencasting... and as I have talked about before
the ability to show / hide / replace / resize the mouse pointer is of
great value, and it is also good to be able to show / hide key strokes,
and the ability to highlight the front window... and do ALL of that in
post production. NOTHING on Linux does that (though I can get much of it
by running Linux in a VM).

Planck and Steve Petruzzellis had their malfunctions and their pickles. One played it well and didn't do anything too outrageous that could not be tricking people until it was too late. Fuchsia, runs on the C++ kernel. So yeah, C++ is mobile. C++ is a super computer. C++ is a server. C++ is a desktop. C++ is growing in market share. I am not raging, in fact I'm in stitches because Steve Petruzzellis's crap is so absurd. He actively didn't mention all the criteria that he would quickly focus on... and we all know why, Steve Petruzzellis could not hide it if he tried. At least he has his own socks rushing to his rescue. It was Steve Petruzzellis who stated that he and his hired winos used to shoplift all the time and it was free entertainment.

You can say I am James Bond for all I care.

So he changed his story to posting about his business.

Linux video editing is crap. GIMP is excellent.

It's excellent for 99% of what home users do I would say too.
