It simply doesn't matter. These WinDrones and iCultists can't get past
"branding" and all the greed it implies. They can't imagine Linux existing
without being a corporate "brand." Yeah, Linux is community developed.
It's free, people can use without paying for it -- and all that money you
think someone should be getting for the Linux "brand," for all those Linux
boxes just doesn't exist. Linux makes corporations money -- lots of it,
but the Linux "brand" doesn't. Android (Linux) exists. Chrome OS (Linux)
exists. Red Hat (Linux) exists. CentOS (Linux) exists. Linux Mint (Linux)
exists. Ubuntu (Linux) exists. Kindles (Linux) exist. Nooks (Linux) exist.
Thousands and thousands of embedded devices using Linux exist. But the
"brand" Linux is virtually non-existent. And no one who actually uses
Linux gives a rat's ass about the Linux "brand." Branding is of utmost
importance to money grubbers, not Linux users. When WinDrones and
iCultists figure out this simple point, they'll come a long way to
understanding why we find their empty arguments a waste of time. We speak
two different languages.

Go back to your Mac and Windows brands, brag about being reamed by the
corporations who foist their expensive hobbyware on you -- we don't care.
The question is, why are obsessed with Linux, "Lloyd?"

Who cares what your imaginary friends do or what they think? They are
*imaginary*! Deal with it!

Why are you obsessing over your imaginary friends and what they say... and
then babbling about it in public?

Google had choices, but chose Linux, and 'Rhoid thinks that reflects

'Rhoid is right "up there" with the DumbFSck, who must think that
people have decided that McDonald's makes the "best hamburger".

Don't let the facts get in the way of your FUD, "Lloyd." Or is it possible
you REALLY are this clueless?

Yeah, they could have picked BSD -- but the Linux kernel is vastly more
popular with many more thousands of developers worldwide. Perhaps you can
go to Google and explain to them how they could have possibly been even
more successful, "Lloyd." :)

Meanwhile, I think Google seems to doing "okay" with Linux, don't you?

User space is hugely different but the core kernel isn't that far from
the (at the time) Linux kernel. It was modified but whether you can say
"heavily" is another issue.

No, it isn't. For that reason Qt runs nativly on Android
And you can easily install the Debian shell and X. Available in the Google
store.
That those are not pre-installed does not mean that android is "hugely
different"

Yeah, I might be able to dig-up an article that says that Dumfsck and
Quack are not lying pieces of shit, but it would have to have been
written before they were born...

User space is HUGELY different.

Do you know what "user space" is?

This is the first link I bothered to google for you:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/quora/2013/05/13/what-are-the-major-changes-that-android-made-to-the-linux-kernel/

do NOT say you weren't provided it.

Running "X" or "Debian shell" is NOT Android. Android is the modified
kernel and the HUGELY DIFFERENT (from Linux based OS installations) USER
SPACE.

Idiots.

In the same sentence, Lusotec wrote "and today Android runs on a main
line Linux", which is an *admission* that it did not always run on a
"main line Linux".

So, while I admit that I don't understand Lusotec's point when he
wrote that Android *never* used a "heavily modified [Linux] kernel",
he must have had one, and it is *not* that it has always used the
"standard" Linux kernel.

*Some* people ask for clarification when there is an unclear point,
instead of going on the attack and behaving like retarded little
children.

Some people are stupid and need clarification of such a simple issue.

The past and current differences between the Android and 'mainline'
Linux kernels are irrelevant, anyway. The lame Linux "community" always
has and always will dance and shout and label the Apache-licensed
Android as "Linux" because it's widely used.

It matters not one whit to you hypocrites that it's not Free software
and totally violates the spirit if not the letter of Linux/FOSS.

> instead of going on the attack and behaving like retarded little
> children.

heh! More hypocrisy.

First thing you and the other stupid shits did is attack me when I
showed the Android kernel was [in the past] heavily modified.
