I recently installed Solus Linux (with the Budgie desktop).

Budgie edge-snaps applications (drag app window to edge of screen - when
mouse hits edge it sizes and places the app to occupy the entire left-
or right-half of the screen). Standard feature on Windows for years,
but new to Linux as far as I know.

Anyway, on Budgie I edge-snapped two apps: Files on left and a .pdf
reader on right. So my entire wide-screen was taken up with these two apps.

Here's the cool thing: when I click-border-dragged one window to resize
it, the other window auto-resized at the same time. Widen the app on
the left, and the app on the right narrows. Widen the app on the right,
and the app on the left narrows. Both apps still fill the screen.

Sweet!

On Windows (8.1 at least) you have to resize each window manually.

Have a Jolt on me, GPL-man!

Any new feature in a Linux Distro worth its salt will eventually end up in Linux Mint, Mate!

Credit is for Pukes, like Snit.

Big fucking deal.

You must still get a big thrill over other absolutely trivial and banal
things like refrigerator magnets.

A quote from Wikipedia explaining the rational:

"aiming to keep a balance between aesthetics and functionality"

FYI, aesthetics has no place in a computing system. A computer
OS is like an army barracks and should express only pure
functionality.

Aesthetics is for stupid cunts.

Edge-snapping isn't the cool feature, dumbshit.

Sounds good.

You lose with your ugly crapola.

You're all about the looks, too:

<Feeb_quotes>

Cooledit is the best... Uses anti-aliased X fonts

[Reason for using LibreOffice] access to TrueType fonts
and font scaling.

[pcal] You will get a beautiful, clear, and crisp calendar...

[math software] This "pretty printing" is very effective and is used in
web pages as well. But with Unicode characters pretty printing can now
rival any output that is based in markup.

[whining] Can vim output a properly formatted math equation (i.e.
prettyprint) based on a Unicode character sequence?

</Feeb_quotes>

Now try to weasel out of your hypocrisy, you daft, double-talking prick.

The only "hypocrisy" is within that hunk of dog meat known
as your brain.

There is a difference -- a BIG difference -- between the
austere functionality of an OS and the OUTPUT of same.

I am referring entirely to the OUTPUT which should be pleasing
to the eye.

But the production of that output requires no emphasis on
aesthetics.

You lose yet AGAIN.

The case is closed.

DDTP... I like it! And why not WOOYH? Seems those both could
be commonly used here in COLA ;)

I just 'penned' (keyed?) the less likely to be common but useful PCTL
(people calling themselves"liberals").

Someone needs to keep track of these...

As I mentioned, there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between OS functionality,
which should ALWAYS be spartan and austere (i.e. aesthetic considerations
do not apply) and OUTPUT.

Proper output formatting, like math "pretty" printing, aids in
comprehension and is NOT purely a matter of aesthetics.

Therefore, my original point remains supremely valid.
Aesthetic concerns are only for stupid cunts.

The case is closed.
