ROFL. It has a lot of great ideas behind it, but the execution just
happens to be piss-poor. Every GUI seems to be fifteen years behind the
times and their stability (the GUIs only) are only marginally better
than what people expected during the Mac OS Classic and Windows 9x days.

Yep.
The concept of free software, source code and choice is a great one.
However, when one goes from concept to actual product, Linux falls
flat down. A few minutes of using Linux is usually more than most
people can handle and back to Windows or OSX they go. Usually all
pissed off at Linux.

That's why I keep advocating for the code behind GNU/Linux to actually
be completely free. If everyone was aware that the code was available to
them and that it's been developed mostly by regular people, it would
truly appear as a "for the people, by the people" alternative to
Windows. In their attempt to be a "better" commercial product than
Windows and OS X, GNU/Linux simply alienates anyone who associates
"commercial product" with clean and efficient design. If, however, it is
presented as an alternative product which contains absolutely no
commercial code because it is, instead, a "homegrown product," the many
bizarre design choices, lack of features and stability problems would be
a lot easier to overlook.

Consider fruits and vegetables as an example. In a supermarket, people
expect for the food that they buy to only spotless and perfect. However,
when they buy from farmers, they understand the possibility that certain
foods might be misshapen or have odd colours. Windows and OS X, in this
case, would be the fruits and vegetables which APPEAR to be perfect but
happen to be filled with pesticides, herbicides in addition to being
GMO. GNU/Linux would be the organic product... it doesn't always look
right but happens to be healthier.

The people dont care. Programmers do. And good programmers already know
its there. Others dont give a monkeys.

No they dont. You're talking horseshit again. Some do : generally anally
retarded loonies.

Your analogies are worse than your technical analysis attempts.

Seriously, do you have any idea what you're on about? It's perfectly
easy to obtain a 100% (give or take) open source Linux distro. Debian is
one such.

You're almost as boring and self absorbed as Goblin.

Explain Flash, the Catalyst and NVIDIA drivers, Google Chrome and the
many wireless drivers which are commonly used by GNU/Linux users.

People don't expect an operating system which can cost them up to a few
hundred dollars (depending on which version they choose) to function
properly? Are you serious?

They were made for people with imaginations and intelligence. Clearly,
you have neither.

Debian IS indeed ONE such product but the majority are NOT such
products. The problem is that most people don't seek out Debian as the
distribution of choice for GNU/Linux. Their eyes are rather fixated on
Linux Mint or Ubuntu.

By the way, you have the right to filter me out if you're bored of my
comments. I won't shed a tear if I never get to communicate with you again.

You have no idea how much you and Flatfish and GreyCloud have become shills
for Carroll - and in doing so are targeting me and my personal and even
professional lives all because you lost some Usenet debates.

Wow. It is truly pathetic.

I realize that I've told you, many times, that people are not as stupid as you need them to be but even I must admit Hadron is the lone exception. If he isn't a flat out shill for you then he's one of the dumbest SOBs on usenet.
