Yes, but the Neo was supposed to be something special! You know --
Apple’s ability to lock in supplier deals, and all that?

Almost all deals have TERMS.

Or is that not something that's occurred to you?

It was supposed to be immune from market forces? Where did you get that?

From the responses I got when I pointed out that a machine that looks
expensive but sold cheaply was perhaps not all it appeared to be ...

Some of which came from you, if I recall rightly ...

I doubt even you know what you are talking about. I know I never said it was
immune to market forces, or magical, or whatever. I doubt anyone else did. You
are just looking for a reaction.

Strawman, much?

Let the record show that it was not I who brought the phrase “immune
to market forces” or the word “magical” into this discussion.

Notice you offer no evidence. No MID. No quote.

Apple is not immune from market forces. Nobody said they were.

Irrelevant to the point.

  Me:

You were wrong.

The Neo is an impressive machine for the price... and selling very well. Like
any item its price might go up. With the current market conditions it likely
will go up soon. No surprise and nobody said otherwise.

You are just making things up to get attention.

Maybe soon to be not so impressive, and maybe not sell so “very well” ...

Plus Tim Cook telegraphed the price increase intent, so consumers who
were on the edge of buying something new had the opportunity to beat the
increase.

Case in point, we've been contemplating replacing some older devices for
a couple of months now, so we ordered replacements at the old price; ETA
next week. While I was at it, I also noted that some of the household
UPS's batteries are calendar-wise EOL, so I ordered a battery tester and
a few battery packs: next up is to test, cull & replace some of them.

So?

EVERYONE's prices are going to go up.

EVERYONE making computing devices that need memory and storage are going
to experience the fact that rising demand has driven up the cost of
purchasing them.

The last time I checked, the mini PC I bought had more than
doubled in price.
