OK, Linux advocates. Prove your worth.

I keep getting a strange warning when running Pan,
which is, by the way, the very best newsreader anywhere.

(Sorry, Microshit chumps. Pan is not OFFICIALLY available
for that junk OS.)

Pan emits this warning whenever I open a window for message
editing:

pan: WARNING **: Error loading plugin: libhunspell-1.3.so.0:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Why this warning?

Pan itself does not require hunspell. Pan is compiled
with gtkspell.

However, gtkspell requires enchant, which in turn requires
hunspell.

But the hunspell version on my system is libhunspell-1.4.so.0.

So why is Pan spewing this message about libhunspell-1.3.so.0
which nothing should ever be calling?

So come on Linux advocates. Prove your worth and solve
this puzzle.

My configuration parameters for Pan are as follows:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local --with-gtkspell --disable-nls --with-dbus=no

Fortunately, Gentoo Linux came to the rescue.

Gentoo has a utility called revdep-rebuild, which helps
in untangling the dependency thicket. On my system,
revdep-rebuild revealed that enchant has unresolved
dependencies and needed to be rebuilt. That fixed the
problem.

Gentoo is, by far, the best Linux distro. Gentoo is
the only distro worthy of being called a Linux distro.

But the candy-ass deadbeats on this NG prefer Hannah Montana.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

There are no dependency problems on Linux. You must have made that up. :)

Well, you have no qualms about taking precious time away from
your earning/relaxing activities to post your critical drivel
to C.O.L.A.

Furthermore, for you it is a SIGNIFICANT amount of time because
you must precede each and every post with a frantic Internet search
to fill in the tremendous voids of your knowledge and expertise.

For example, you had never before known of par2cmdline or par2tbb
and had to query Google for sufficient background information to
allow you to construct a response. Think of how many beers you could
have quaffed in that same amount of time.

Obviously, your repetitive rants about GNU/Linux as a waste of time
are pure bluster because YOU are the most experienced in the art of
useless temporizing.

You come to C.O.L.A. because you believe that you can get away
with your subterfuge, but not all are so easily fooled.

That's rich. It's YOU, Feeb, who thinks he's saying something important
with your ignorant, repetitive drools about 'Try that with Microshit
Windows' and 'Can't do that with Windows'. You're almost always wrong.

Most of the Linux idiots here have done the same thing. I shut them ALL
down.

So butt out. Do you think you have some special entitlement

I see I hit a sore spot, Feeb: you can't stand that your stupid 'only

My apologies for the late response but I'd been at two parties over the
weekend, the last one finished at 4am with a bunch of great musicians
just jamming into the early hours, I then had a great day with family,
spent more time this morning with my daughter and just came into work
this afternoon to do a bit of catching up.

I can't remember what your rant was about and I don't really care any
more as I'm totally chilled and no doubt you were just ranting about
some stupid GNU nonsense that you claim can't be done under Windows only
to be proven utterly wrong again.

The safe bet is to assume that whatever you say is complete nonsense
because 99.99999% of the time it is.

Which operating system do women prefer? It is Microshit Windows
all the way.

GNU/Linux doesn't attract pussies.

Could there ever be a better portrait of superiority?

If Google thinks you are a bot, how could they be wrong? Maybe you are a bot.

Is Jeff-Relf.Me a person, or a computer simulation of a person? Cause there is all kinds of strange
persons with strange names inside my computer. Are they persons, bots or computer simulated persons?

And what are they doing in my computer????
