I was going by Lenovo's statement on LSE.

These things are disgusting, and I won't defend Lenovo, but still they
are Windows-only and don't affect my Thinkpad, which only boots Linux.
I don't have a lot of praise for thinkpads other than RAM expandability
for the price (at least as of three years ago).  This one lost a keyboard
column (8-i-k-,) after two years, and I've had to get by with a Logitech
sitting on top.
