And sadly macOS has gone in a similar direction. Front windows are much 
more subtle now... and it is easier to click on a background widget 
thinking it is a part of the front window. Easy to discern if you pay 
attention, but the point is you should not have to be paying attention 
to such things.

Again, while there is a lot going for the macOS virtual work space 
solution, it has no pager in the dock or menu (though ones can be added 
via third party). Apple should have one.
