" Report Suspected Fraud
The DES Office of Inspector General (OIG) exists to safeguard Arizonans
by preventing and detecting fraud, waste, abuse and misconduct. OIG has
seven principal functions: audit, assessment and review; continuous
improvement; administrative and criminal investigation; research and
analysis; risk management investigation; and hearing and deciding appeals
pertaining to unemployment insurance and public assistance programs
administered by DES.
One of the missions of the DES Inspector General's Office is to conduct
administrative and criminal investigations regarding SNAP benefits
trafficking.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Trafficking
Detection Unit (TDU) investigates complaints and allegations regarding
the improper use of SNAP benefits and prepares cases for administrative
sanction and criminal prosecution.
Referrals for suspected benefit fraud are received from the benefit
program, from the public, and through the use of other investigative
tools.
This information provides the springboard for investigatory activities,
including partnerships with federal, state, and local law enforcement
agencies to conduct joint investigations.
Suspected fraud can be reported online via the links below or by calling
the Department’s toll free hotline number at 1-800-251-2436, or locally
at 602-542-9449.

Report general fraud, including nutrition assistance (formerly known as
food stamps), cash assistance, child care, general assistance and medical
