It diagrams just fine.  I take it subordinate clauses present a difficulty

No.  Each window is receiving the id value of the current window 1,
but they both receive a string 'echo "send this to window 1"' when they
do not have focus.

No.  That's not what is happening in your video.

As you can see here, when the white window has focus (it is now window 1)
the red and orange windows are receiving the string "send this to window 1"
and are also echo'ing the value of the white window's id, 18028.  The
orange window is id 18026, and the red is 18027, as you see earlier in
the video.
