My views in a nutshell:

I back equal rights and the idea that hard work / productivity
should be tied to financial gain... and work against special
entitlements.
I also believe that we, as a society, should invest in
infrastructure and the future - and that failing to do so means we
will not compete well in a global economy. Also think that people
should cover the price of their own costs and risks as much as
they can without pushing those onto society.

Not sure why that would be offensive to anyone. Seems pretty straight
forward and reasonable to me.
