Not really. It's all relevant. The stuff today is better. A LOT of past
HW you can simulate in SW now. People still pine for solid state though
and who can blame them? It's simply more appealing even if it does sound
the same. We as human prefer things in out past - like a growing child
hangs on to its blanket or soother.

That said when it comes to musical instruments
etc old is invariably not only more expensive but better. I own a
vintage Martin D18. I wont be trading it for a new Yamaha anytime
soon. (Yahama make great guitars btw).
