Final attempt at a sensible discussion on here...

Over the weekend I updated my ipad (9th gen) to ipadOS 18 from 17 and I now
notice a custom shortcut isn't working properly anymore. Basically, it
creates a new note with today's date as a title and throws up two dialogue
boxes for a note description and a set of tags. Everything behaves as
before except the tags are ignored.

I have very little experience of Shortcuts and this is pretty much my first
one. Any ideas on how to debug?

FWIW, I posted 7-10 days ago about a shortcut problem I too was
experiencing. You're not the only one. I can't provide an answer your
to your issue, but in my case it used to go right to the location the
shortcut was made for, now it shows the steps on screen as it does them
and is slower. Something has changed that's for sure.

Thanks for the response.

Did you also upgrade to 18 recently?

Yep, that's when it changed behavior on how they work. Right after the
update to 18.

OK. That's consistent, then.

I am going to try two things.
First, I'm going to use this supposed new feature of duplicating the
shortcut. I don't recall if you could do that before or not. But I'll
see if the duplicate works the same.
If that doesn't work, I'll try creating a new shortcut that does the
same thing and see if it works like they used to.

Not high on the list of things to do since mine still work, but when I
get the chance I'll give it a try.

I found this troubleshooting guide. It's not relevant to my case, but may
be useful for you:

Tried this, but still the same

Thanks. Nothing helped. I didn't try the uninstall and reinstall of
the app. Probably try that later.

A link to the shortcut we can examine would be a good start.

Update: this is now working again. Must have been a bug that was fixed in a
recent update.
