Is it possible to view GPS tracks on a Google or iOS road map on iOS?

A friend I was showing my off-road KML tracks to asked how to create
& view offline *road* map tracks on his iPhone in Google or Apple Maps.

I mostly view "my" KML tracks in Google Earth, but they're not road maps
(they're terrain maps with roads).
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/google-earth/id293622097?mt=8

Googling, it looks like "Galileo Offline Maps", by Evgen Bodunov
freeware can *view* KML tracks on a decent offline OSM road map:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/galileo-offline-maps-osm-based/id321745474?mt=8

And, the previously noted "Map Plus", by Zax, freeware can both
*create* and *view* KML tracks on offline OSM road maps:
Map Plus (Offline Map + GPS Track + KML Editing), by Zax
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/map-plus-offline-map-+-gps/id438868200?mt=8

Both of those OSM map apps work, but the gold standard for road maps is
either Google or Apple maps on iOS.

In iOS, is it possible to view GPS tracks on a Google or Apple road map?

Turns out it's impossible.
Too bad.

Turns out it is actually possible!

I was in the process of deleting MotionX GPS HD, when I suddenly
realized that the thing that made it useless for hiking, made it
actually useful for road driving!

Digging into the settings, it turns out that MotionX GPS HD has
the capability of tracking and viewing on a variety of road maps!

1. Google Maps
2. Apple Maps
3. Bing Maps
4. MotionX Maps

So, the answer to the question is that I can move MotionX GPS HD
from the "Hiking" folder to the "Driving" folder, and then it
simply becomes a tracking/routing program for Google (road) Maps.

Voila!

More value than you have so far, by my count.

Trolls are like lawyers: one in a town can make a good living;
two or more in one town can make very very good living.

You and Jolly Roger should do quite well then.

I'm not the one trolling here. Pay better attention.

Oh, come on JR; it is obvious that someone posting his first message as
"King Arthur" (but hardly likely that it is his first message here)
knows who the troll is. All he has to do is look in the mirror.

If Google Earth runs on iOS, this should work.
=========================================================================
How to view KML tracks on a topographic map on Google Earth on the PC:

0. Download the entire USA USGS topographic map for Google Earth:
   Go to http://www.earthpoint.us/TopoMap.aspx
   Press the "View on Google Earth" button
   This will Download "EarthPointTopoMap_024802.kml"
   Save as: /tmp/EarthPointTopoMap_024802.kml

1. Load the USA USGS topographic map into Google Earth on Linux:
   $ googleearth /tmp/EarthPointTopoMap_024802.kml & (this didn't work)
   $ googleearth &
     GoogleEarth: File > Open > /tmp/EarthPointTopoMap_024802.kml
     GoogleEarth: View > Sidebar

2. Select the Earth Point Topo Map USGS Quandrangles:
     GoogleEarth: Places > Earth Point Topo Map > USGS Quadrangles

3. Load your KML track which will now topographically show on GE:
     GoogleEarth: File > MyTrack.kml
