Do you also disable WiFi and your cellular connection regularly, since
those are also not required on a continuous basis? If not, what makes
Bluetooth so special in this regard - according to you? The fact is
there are many different features that require Bluetooth (some, but
certainly not all, have been listed in this thread already). Personally,
I use some of those features, such as Handoff and Bluetooth peripherals,
frequently enough that disabling Bluetooth frequently would severely
reduce my productivity. I don't expect every iOS user to be able to say
that, but have to think that Apple probably has a much better grasp of
how many iOS users might need Bluetooth-enabled functionality (whether
they realize it or not), and they almost certainly have a much better
idea of the security implications than little, old you.
