I gather that license fee covers the costs of the BBC. I've always enjoyed the British comedies far more than our home-grown ones here in the USA. Since I was young (I'm 56), Public Broadcasting stations broadcasted some of the shows, going back to Monty Python's Flying Circus in the 1970s. "Mr. Bean" was one of the best, IMO along with "Are You Being Served". I've not seen "Mrs. Brown's Boys" broadcasted here but I've seen some of them online, that was an outrageous comedy. "Mrs. Brown gets a bikini wax" has to rank as one of the funniest bits I ever have and ever will see. IMO, we've got nothing in the USA as outrageously funny as some of the British shows.

I think the Beeb has a higher percentage of not-crap stuff than our US stations do. And then there's Alistair Cooke's America, about which we can both brag. -- Cheers, Bev "What fresh hell is this?" -- Dorothy Parker

He's a repairman terms so he thinks first in repairman terms, and he said people get it when the wires to their house keep causeing probems, and they get tired of that. But the wires in the house stsill have to work, unless you install optical fiber or pho-fi.

I have had (almost) the same number for nearly fifty years and I'm not going to change it now. I could port it to a VoIP provider but they won't guarantee that they will let me port it back or to another VoIP provider. I also use VoIP and I have programmed my clever Fritz!Box 7490 router/DECT modem to select the cheapest call route. To keep this post on-topic I will add that the Fritz!Box can use a gMail address book as its phone book.

I"ve had the same number for 33 years. The previous owner of the house had it and I memorized it in 2 minutes, so since he was moving far away, I begged him for it and he gave it to me. Did they say why they wouldn't guarantee it? >I also use VoIP and I have programmed my clever Fritz!Box 7490 Is that like a sitzbath? >router/DECT modem to select the cheapest call route.
