projection.

*you* repeatedly attack anyone who doesn't agree with your bizarro
ideas as well as anyone who uses apple products (note the thread
title).

You must feel threatened by Apple; you continually troll Apple news
groups and insult Apple users. You reap what you sew.

not anymore it doesn't.

new technologies have replaced old outdated ones, something you just
can't comprehend.

See?

I used to think you were stupid.
But you're actually probably intelligent.

At least, you *can* comprehend technology.

That you can't comprehend that there are different ways of transferring
files is what used to frustrate me.

But now I understand.

Apple Marketing didn't tell you to transfer files that way.
Period.

a. It threatens your herd solidarity
b. It threatens your product cachet
c. It is part of a multi-variable approach

The fact that there is more than just the Apple way of doing something
threatens one or more of those three insecurities.

Mind you, I can easily tell this not from studying how you respond -
because your responses are as predictable but far less simplistic than
Jolly Roger's responses.

But, once I understood Jolly Roger's fundamentalist motive - yours became
as readily apparent.

Many of us were doing Bluetooth File Transfers before iOS ever came
along. We just recognize there are now *much* better ways. You, on the
other hand, can't seem to use anything but BT file transfers, because:
troll. You're a transparent idiot troll.

This time you actually make sense, in that bluetooth file transfer is a
common concept.

Why?
Because it works across platforms without the need for a network.

Can I do that on Android?
You betcha.

Can I do that on iOS?
Nope.

Why not?

what you fail to understand is that there are numerous new and more
advanced methods to move content without the need for what you call a
network (which shows how little you actually know about networking).

fyi, just about any file transfer these days involves using a network,
and that includes bluetooth (yes, it's a network, just a slow one).

you're also too stupid to realize that android can use new methods too.
it's not just apple that uses advanced technologies.

When you are ignorant on a subject it really shows. The
"one-button-mouse" has not been part of the Apple World for years. Yet
you continue to believe that bringing out that ancient blob of FUD is
somehow going to add weight to your anti-Apple campaign, and from the
dark depths of your mind, another insult to users of Apple products.

about 30 years, actually.

macs have supported multi-button mice since around 1986, several of
which were available from third parties.

windows 2.0 had not yet been released, which almost nobody used anyway.

I will simply repeat what I said, since *most* of you exhibit the same
fundamentalist ideals (e.g., Jolly Roger, nospam, SavageDuck and the
Jamie's).

NOTE: Michelle, Patty Winters, David Empson, and Sobriquet are *not* the
type of Apple Fundamentalists that I describe below.

==========================

The one-button mouse existed - but that's not the point in the least
because it was merely a well-known example to exemplify a concept.

That you base your entire argument on that well-known exemplification is
what used to frustrate me to no end in the past.

It used to bother me that you base your entire argument by attacking a mere
off-the-cuff illustrative example - and - in doing so, you completely miss
the concept.

What I've learned, mostly from Michael Eyd and Jolly Roger, is that when
you so directly attack a mere well-known off-the-cuff example, you show
that you either purposefully or unconsciously are threatened by the main
concept.

I'm not sure what part of that well-known example threatened you so much,
but so far, all the threats have been from your perception of you:
a. Herd mentality
b. Marketing cachet
c. Single-vector approach

Which of those three fundamentalist ideals do you feel were threatened by
that single-mouse-button example?

*WHOOSH*

The point is that at the time Macs supported multi-button mice (starting
around 1986), Windows 2 hadn't even been released.

Have you used a multi-button mouse with Windows 1? I'd be interested to
know what you could do with it. I doubt it would be very useful. : )

and that windows 2 didn't sell very well after it was released.

it wasn't until windows 3 when windows started to become popular, with
windows 95 where it took off.

windows 1 did support a 2-button mouse, but that doesn't mean it was
useful. it was pretty bad. there weren't even overlapping windows. they
were all tiled, and back then, displays were 640x480, so not much space
for tiling.

Yes, I remember it well. At the time a lot of my PC-using friends were
still stuck in DOS-land, and many of them made jokes about my Mac with
cute little pictures and icons on the screen being a kid's toy. It was
funny to watch each of them turn right around and embrace Windows not
long after that. : )

Right. I was more interested in what multi-button functionality was (or
wasn't) there. I doubt there was a whole lot you could do with that
second button. : )

yep.

the same thing is happening now, where people call phones and tablets
toys.

the number of tasks that require a desktop or a laptop is shrinking,
and rather rapidly.

mobile is clearly the future.
