What I don't understand is that the Android users bought on price:performance so they *know* what they have and they don't lie about it. The Apple user, apparently bought purely on image, so, they feel the need to APOLOGIZE for what they have - but they apologize by lying. As you know, nospam and Jolly Roger *incessantly* lie about Apple capabilities (just as crankypuss what he concluded after dealing with them for just a week or three). So the question is WHY. I think Michael Eyd helped me figure out the tentative answer. > Possibly you would enjoy whichever one you > choose a bit more if you stopped your continuuing trollish > efforts. I enjoy both. I can get far more done on Android - but the kids love the iPads. The question here is not technical. The question here is why the Apple Apologists feel the need to incessantly lie about iOS' lack of capabilities where the Android Enthusiasts don't feel that need to lie about the deficiencies in Android. I think the reason may be, after talking with Michael Eyd, that the Android user bought on price:performance, and hence he feels no need to lie about Android capabilities. Meanwhile, the Apple Apologist bought on pure image, so, the need to lie to protect the image seems to be paramount to them. > You could also just fuck off! Erudite you are! :)

It's just that his lame troll won't work unless you > forget about everything else and act like it's "impossible" to organize > your apps in iOS. I love when *you* post, because you are far more simple minded than is nospam or Michael Eyd, so, I can more easily understand the mindset of the average iOS user though your simplistic thought processes. In this case, you entirely ignored the dozen or so capabilities on Android that allow organization (e.g., hidden app icons, a variety of launchers, placeholder folders, ability to put icons in multiple places, automatic offline archivers, controlling data access, file redirectors, etc.). It's far too complex for all three of you to comprehend, but, in your case, your thought process is so simple that it's easy to see that you can't imagine that more than one thing contributes to desktop organization. So, I think, thanks to you, I have a *third* psychological attribute which explains why Apple Apologists act the way they do. a. The aforementioned herd mentality b. The aforementioned cachet insecurity and now ... c. A newly realized inability to comprehend branched solutions Over time, I'll have a better word for this inability to handle a solution that is comprised of more than one vector approach. It's sort of exemplified in the one-button mouse - where Apple users, Steve Jobs must have thought, can't handle two buttons (it confuses them). Likewise with the lack of buttons on the screen of iDevices - where Android users have more buttons (it doesn't confuse the Android users as much as choice and flexibility confuses the average iOS user). So, please do continue posting because, through your very simple actions, I am better understanding the psychology of the average iOS user.

Here's what I've learned, simply by trying to understand how you think, mainly because you're one of the easiest to figure out. You exhibit in all your posts: a. A herd mentality xenophobia b. Cachet-inspired insecurities c. An inability to comprehend multi-vector solution For example, you can't fathom, nor even imagine in your wildest dreams, that more than one thing contributes to desktop organization. It's the one-button-mouse mentality, in a nutshell.

It used to bother me that you instantly devolve into insults whenever someone stated an opinion that differed from yours, but now I just try to better understand how your mind thinks. Just like Jolly Roger, your approach is to vehemently insult whenever anyone has an opinion that doesn't neatly fit your one-dimensional thought process - but you're far more complex than Jolly Roger is - hence far harder to figure out. Yet, you espouse the same three fundamentalist ideals: a. Herd mentality (you don't like that I organize the way "I" want and not the way Apple Marketing suggests where you have to resort to spotlight to find anything and creating your own app folder to hide stuff). This herd mentality is so strong with you that you despise the fact that I use Linux, for example, and that I use Windows sans iTunes, to connect to the iOS devices. b. Cachet mentality (you don't like that I buy hardware on price performance, and the fact that I get all my functionality for free really incenses you. This cachet mentality is so strong with you that you even go so far as to refute known published facts, such as the fact the average iOS user spends 2.5 times that of Android users in inapp purchases. c. Inability to comprehend multi-faceted solutions. While I only realized this last revelation about your psychology from studying Jolly Roger's posts (because he's far simpler than you are), I see that you exhibit this psychological trait far more than does Jolly Roger. You just hide it better because of your vastly superior technological knowledge. For example, you can't comprehend that multiple things contribute to organizational efficiency. You also can't comprehend that there are multiple app drawers on Android. You can't comprehend that the app drawers can organize any way you like. And you can't comprehend that a call recorder and an automatic call recorder are two different beasts. You can't even comprehend that bluetooth file transfer has its place in mobile devices. So, while I only realized from Jolly Roger's statements that he can only think in one-button-mouse fashion, you actually exhibit that single-vector mentality far more than does almost anyone here (other than, perhaps, Rod Speed). You and he exhibit the same psychological facets. In effect: a. Apple says to stay within the walled garden - so you do. b. Apple says pay lots of money for cachet - so you do. c. Apple says there is only one way to do things - so you agree. I'm sorry that I was unable to figure you out before, since, as you know, I respect your technical acumen but I was frustrated to no end by wondering if you were incredibly stupid or just incredibly duplicitous. Turns out it was neither: a. You're threatened by anyone outside the walled garden b. You're threatened by anyone who buys on performance c. You're threatened by anyone who proposes a solution that Apple Marketing didn't decree That's why you act the way you do. And all this time, I didn't know if you were duplicitous or just plain stupid, because you didn't seem to be either but you exemplified both in spades. Now I understand your complexity. Thanks to Jolly Roger's simplicity.
