The one-button mouse existed - but that's not the point in the least
because it was merely a well-known example to exemplify a concept.

That you base your entire argument on that well-known exemplification is
what used to frustrate me to no end in the past.

It used to bother me that you base your entire argument by attacking a mere
off-the-cuff illustrative example - and - in doing so, you completely miss
the concept.

What I've learned, mostly from Michael Eyd and Jolly Roger, is that when
you so directly attack a mere well-known off-the-cuff example, you show
that you either purposefully or unconsciously are threatened by the main
concept.

I'm not sure what part of that well-known example threatened you so much,
but so far, all the threats have been from your perception of you:
a. Herd mentality
b. Marketing cachet
c. Single-vector approach

Which of those three fundamentalist ideals do you feel were threatened by
that single-mouse-button example?

It seems that your agenda addled brain is beyond all reason, and you
have no intention to do anything other than insult anybody who doesn't
see things your way. Your intent is to use the ancient
"one-button-mouse" as, what in your mind is an insult, when it was
never a hinderance to any Apple OS function when it was the standard
Apple mouse. That includes using it with the Microsoft and Adobe
applications which first appeared on the Mac.

As I have said, the "one-button-mouse" is history, yet you can't get
that fact through your singular mind.

I would explain all of this for you in detail, but I don't have any crayons.

My point is valid that you attacked a well-known example, as if you were
embarrassed that it even existed. Surely you don't deny its existence, do
you?

That it existed is all I need to use it as an illustrative example of the
concept.

The concept I learned from Jolly Roger was that the Apple Fundamentalists
have immense trouble with multidimensional solutions.

Take bluetooth file transfer, for example.
Just the *thought* of BT file transfer incenses nospam.

Why?
He says, because it's slow.
Sure, it's slow. So is a bicycle compared to a car.

Yet, there are times when it's nice to have a bike.
What he can't see is that concept.

I learned all this from the overt simplicity of Jolly Roger's posts.

What is very interesting is that you are the one person here most true to
your basic roots of:
a. Herd mentality
b. Marketing cachet
c. Uni-dimensional solutions

So, instead of attacking the concept, you attack the illustrative example,
as if a single-button mouse never existed.

I used to think you were cleverly and stubbornly duplicitous, but I think
you actually believe what you write.

And again: Once you were proven wrong, you change topics on the fly. The
point Jolly Roger was discussing was the app drawer, not any other
points in the bigger area of desktop organization. It's clearly you who

As you know, I organize my Windows & Linux computers the way "I' want them
organized; and I also organize Android and iOS mobile devices, as well as
the launcher allows.

Each platform is organized mostly by what I "do" on that platform.
Each platform has a "menu" entry or a point-and-click touch screen that is
a single cascade or a single desktop, so that *everything* can be quickly
found in a single click or two clicks at most.

Each platform also has data archives organized by what I save and how I
want to save it.

Each platform also has installer archives organized by what the program
does (e.g., on Windows, the installer archive is the same as the menu
hierarchy and the apps hierarchy - while on Android, it's all done
automatigally to save all installers to the external SD card which also has
placeholder folders for everything).

Never is an app more than two clicks away (where the most-often used are
one click access).

Never does an app icon move from where you put it, even when you install
new apps.

It's far harder to do all that on iOS than on all the other platforms; but
it *is* possible to be organized on iOS too.

Since I prove what I say ...

Here is my roadmap & outdoor map organization on iOS:

I absolutely *love* when you respond, because it's rather easy to see how
your mind comprehends things.

You distort to fit the fundamentalist model that you have in your brain,
which the Apple Marketing alone introduced to you.

a. You are threatened by anything outside the herd
b. You buy purely into marketing cachet
c. You can't comprehend a multidimensional solution

So, to you, naturally, the fact that it's impossible to do a dozen or so
things that contribute to excellent organization (e.g., place apps in
multiple folders), yet, it's possible to do a handful of things that do
contribute to organization (e.g., create folders), you immediately jump to
the (hugely erroneous) conclusion that the two statements are at odds with
each other.

While you provide all my insight, nospam just did the exact same thing when
he (hugely erroneously) determined that the statement that you can do more
things on Android but that you can do some things on iOS that can't be done
on Android, was at odds, mathematically with each other.

What *both* of you do, because you feel threatened by:
a. Lack of herd mentality
b. Lack of adherence to marketing cachet
c. Ability to propose multidimensional solutions
is that you look for non-existing inconsistencies in statements.

1. You gleefully *found* what you assume is a logical mistake in the fact
that you "can" do rudimentary organization on iOS to mean that this means,
*in and of itself* that iOS is *as good as* Android in organization.

2. Nospam gleefully *found* what he assume is a logical mistake in the fact
that you "can" do some things on iOS that this means, *in and of itself*
that iOS is *as good as* Android in doing things.

You're both essentially two peas in the same fundamentalist pod.
But your responses are far more enlightening, simply because your approach
to ridicule anything that threatens you is so simplistic.

So, please do respond, because I learn more from you about the average iOS
users' psychology than I do from the likes of nospam and savageduck (who
are more complex than you are).

You know *nothing* about what you're speaking.
There are *many* app drawer apps.

Mine organizes apps any way I want.
Mine can even *hide* apps from the app drawer.
It searches for apps by name.
It can display either the application name or the package name.
It automatically organizes all apps by however Google organizes them.
And it sorts them alphabetically if I want.
Or it sorts them by category if I want.
Or it sorts by most often launched if I want.
Or it sorts them manually if I want.
It can even sort by *color* for heaven's sake!

I'm not saying that sorting by color is a big deal, but I am saying that
there is nothing whatsoever in iOS that comes close to the capabilities of
a decent Android App drawer app.

Here, for example, are the sorts by Google Play official categories:
http://i.cubeupload.com/ZUZqUj.png

Just to prove the sort by color, here's a "red" sort on my phone:
http://i.cubeupload.com/vDUJTL.png

And here is a green sort on my phone:
http://i.cubeupload.com/BrW6so.png

And here is a blue sort:
http://i.cubeupload.com/ahuCVI.png

You can tag them any way you like, where the point is you can sort by
almost anything you can think of.
- You can sort by "Location" based apps
- You can sort by "Messaging" based apps
etc.

The apps sort almost any way you can think of:
- By Name Ascending
- By Name Descending
- By Size Ascending
- By Size Descending
- By Install Date Ascending
- By Install Date Descending
etc.

There is nothing on iOS that can come close to even beginning to compare to
what these App Drawer apps can do.
