#154872 — Account icon on Gmail

I prefer Gmail as my default email client, but I have several non-google
accounts and the icons for them are all blank.
The icon for Gmail is my photo. Is there a way to assign an icon to each
account even if it is just an inital letter as some clients use?

For icons on the home screen, you can make them anything you want.

I don't use the GMail app (because it creates an account when you log into
Google mail servers using it), but do you mean icons inside the app?

Or icons on the home screen?

Wouldn't be my first choice.

Have you tried Thunderbird for Android?

<https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.thunderbird.android&hl=en>

You have the option between Monogram (initials), Image (you can upload)
and several preset Icons.

Yes, but I don't like it, although I use Betterbird on my pc.

I have used many clients including Thunderbird, Outlook, Samsung and
Edison, all of which allow several different accounts without charge.

I particularly need one that opens in-line images AND attached images
from trusted friends and Gmail does all of these things.
