Maybe if you didn't cling to Win7 you'd realize that. If you were still using a Vista/XP computer or even one originally running 7 I'd get it, but 8.x was a legit upgrade, install Classic Shell and it was fine, and 10 started out as one, it isn't anymore. If it is at 50% today, that means that at a simple linear growth rate, its going to be at 70% in five years (2029) and at 90% ...pragmatically "full"...at another five years after that (2034). So then, do we _really_ expect this piece hardware will still be serviceable in 2029 and/or 2034? And a good enough performer vs what's state of the shelf in 2029 or 2034 such that it will be worth the effort to migrate it to another PC? At what point does it go to the bin to join 5.25" and 3.5" floppy disks? -hh

How the fuck would a computer from 2010, even one as nice as that one was when new, have NVMe support? It didn't even have SATA 3 with its SSD or HDDs. I could have used that drive with SATA 3 in the new machine, but I wanted to spend the measly $110 for a quality NVMe, unlike with Apple it was a modest component. -- Joel W. And if ya don't believe that, I have some 100MB ZIP drives to sell ya. -hh

Yeah but I have 1 TB from the beginning. I have had that as my lone storage going back to 2009-2010. Two WD Black hard drives and the two SSDs. I was so old fashioned I was still using IDE drives with my first 1 TB, until there was no IDE in my 2010 computer. I had my same BD-RE and SATA hard drive, transferring two nice optical drives with the guts and case as a favor to my fellow hardware enthusiast for a friend of his to get a usable system. Windows 8.x and 10 would not boot on that computer I received in 2007, but I certainly had both and I know what I'm saying that 10 is Win11 Light. Buying computers as bare parts has value that makes the retail price of Win11 not excessive, but certainly the single-device non-retail licenses are just as good. -- Joel W.
