We have always had mega bushfires since long before the white man ever showed up, because of the extreme flammability of so much of our vegetation. And have always had mega droughts and floods, due to el nino and la nina. And that is the reason that even if we were actually stupid enough to shut down all fossil fuelled power generation and ban all fossil fuelled vehicles, that would have no effect what so ever on the climate here.

My point was that most folks lives reside on many servers. My list above are -some- of the servers that have my life's info. One would have to be naive to think that some of that info isn't available to employees, IT techs, tellers, cops, hackers, the Russians, etc, and could never be used for nefarious reasons. With Google, at least, I suppose I might feel honored if an employee picked me out of their 2 billion plus accounts to peruse.

I've never had any problems, but a friend had his trust account drained
by one of the bank's employees who forged the signature on some papers.
Took over a year to fix it. Nothing is safe.

I apparently misread this earlier. After rereading it I wonder if we're talking about the same thing. You apparently check Google Maps on your computer before you go so traffic problems could occur after you've left that you wouldn't know about. I use the Maps app on my phone while driving so that if a new traffic problem up the road is entered I know about it immediately and she can guide me around it. >> Next time Give Google Maps a try. On trips I always check the route out ahead of time and could get there without Google if necessary. The Google traffic warnings (and avoidance) feature is the main reason I use the service.

Sacramento 511, by Castle Rock ITS (free, ad free, GSF dependent) o Android <https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=crc.carsapp.sacog> o iOS <https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sacramento-511/id849290938> (I think) I didn't test iOS (as I can't find a use for my iPad anymore), but on Android "Sacramento 511" asks for GPS permission which you can grant for "only while using" and yet, Sacramento 511 comes up fine without GPS turned on, so it doesn't even need to know where you are. Better yet, you can turn on the layers, and you get: 1. Traffic (typical red/yellow/green google-like stuff) 2. *Waze Reports (without needing a Waze login!)* 3. Traffic camera access (tons of apps give this though) 4. Road reports (e.g., road closures, construction, etc.) Did anyone else notice the "Waze" reports? o Sans login? What I love about that Sacamento 511 app is that you get Waze without logging into Waze. That's pretty neat, don't you think. So that's a new feature we might add to the criteria, which is o Waze information without needed to have a Waze login -- Posted out of the goodness of my heart, to help others & myself.

And probably already have, we're just so far down the list of valuable
targets that we're safe. Still, there's no point in making it easy for
them.
Besides, we already hand our cash over (sometimes by writing a check,
