I would like a program to assist in taking panorama images larger than
can be captured in a single photo. I would like the program to stitch
the results together and produce a single JPEG from the results. Saving
individual shots used to for final picture is nice, but not required.
This is something I do infrequently, but might make several on a single
day when traveling.
I had been using ProCapture[*] on my previous phone without issues, but
when I tried it today on my new phone (about four months old now) it
refused to stitch on my first attempt and crashed during the stitching
on my second attempt. One was a two-shot pano, one was a three-shot, so
I was not trying to push the phone hard.
I'm willing to pay for an app. I do not want something that shows ads
and I will be reading the privacy policy and reviewing the requested
permissions.

last six months.

Grudgingly because I want a super-rugged phone and I want to be able to install stuff without nanny Apple deciding it's okay. (This is not to be construed as my saying Apple has super-rugged phones.) My Cat S60 replaced a somewhat rugged flip phone and super-rugged point and shoot camera. Now that was replaced with an S61. Near as I can tell, nothing really rugged exists in Windows phone land, in the Cyanogen/Lineage devices, in the Ubuntu phone, in the FirefoxOS, in Blackberry land. When I traded two devices for one, I decided avoiding google on the phone was easier than carrying a somewhat rugged phone and a camera. And for me if it can't take photos under 2 feet of salt water or have it survive a drop on slippery coastal rocks, it's not worth it. I've got money and I'm willing to spend it. What I don't have is a working panorama app that doesn't show ads or try to track me. Elijah ------ is not impressed with the "put a case on it" ruggedizations

Hi nospam, Some day, nospam, you're going to post a purposefully helpful post. o Meanwhile... my response to you is... Facts: An _intelligent_ Android user can just as easily avoid Google software o As an iOS user. Even better, the intelligent Android user has _far_ more privacy o Than any iOS user in many situations (e.g., Advertiser ID as just 1 of many) We are not children nospam, where you _always_ think like a child thinks. o Unlike you, nospam, _ADULTS_ can comprehend simple facts. You don't like facts, nospam - because you own a child's mind, nospam. o The fact you don't like facts nospam, doesn't make those facts not facts. It just proves, time and again, nospam, that you're an utter idiot.

Then this probably won't help you. I haven't done panorama myself, partly because I don't know how I'd display the picture after I made it. How do you do that? And I have no idea how to do it on a phone. But my camera has a panorama mode, and it cost about $100, I think. I wouldn't blame you if you don't want to spend $100 just for this. It's a Samsung WB35F which they don't make anymore and is even more expensive on the used market, but there is a sequel. The sequel is less mechanical. Mine uses the screen that replaces the viewfinder to display menus and icons to choose options, but swithcing from one to another is by using a 5-button button. The later model made the screen bigger, covering the whole back of the camera I think, and uses tapping to choose things, like a phone. But it has a mechanically zooming lens, which I expect does a better job. A macro function which I'm pretty sure will stay in focus and go much closer to the subject. It has wifi, so it will communicate with a cellphone or computer, though I always use a cable to transfer pictures. It has NFC which would allow me to print straight from the camera to an NFC printer, which I have but have not used this way. My NFC printer is by Brother, an all-in-1, and iirc is not very expensive, about 100 three years ago, although I didnt' buy the camera, I found it on the curb. One place I would not use a cable is that it will take the longitude and latitude from a cell phone and store it with the image data. IIRC, the cellphone, which already has location data, doesn't store it with the pictures. Usually it's not of much value but there are times when I can't remember where the scene in the picture is. Some times I figure it out by which pictures are earlier and later, but a couple pictures I've failed to do that, and it will get worse, the greater time there is between taking the pictures and looking at them. >I had been using ProCapture[*] on my previous phone without issues, but >when I tried it today on my new phone (about four months old now) it >refused to stitch on my first attempt and crashed during the stitching >on my second attempt.
