Will changing the 2 gig to a 32 gig card help, or does the small size of
thin internal memory mess me up just as much as now?

Perhaps you remember when I used to complain about my old cellphone. I
like the new one, a Blu Studio X Plus, mostly because I got a good
price.

But before I go out of town, I still have to copy the contacts from one
phone to another, and I looked at the phone last night, and it's a lot
better than I remember it. I forgot it had a camera, and I used to have
to touch it up to 5 times to get it to work, but today that worked fine.
And I can vocally ask it questions and it answers them in print! It
understood every word I said.

The biggest problem was that it woudln't let me install apps, I think I
could only install one app, Office Documents Viewer, I looked on
gsmarena again, and I was reminded that it would take 32gigs, and I only
have 2gigs. I can fix that but the bigger problem seems to be

that A) the internal memory is only 256 MB RAM, 512 MB

I'm not sure why there are two numbers, 256, 512?? but is it worth $10
to buy a 32gig (micro) SD card for this phone. I was thinking not to
be my main phone but it's so little and light, and there must be some
use for it with wifi only.

The storage section of Settings says that for the internal SD card there
are B) a Total spacel of 17.96MB and 17.64MB is Available (when the
phone is manufactured, this must mean, because under C) Internal
Storage, Space Available it says 5.96 Meg) But this still makes no
sense because B and C, 17.96 and 5.96, are so much lower than A, 256MB,
512. What is going on here?

Yet it seems to work well**. Last night, with just wifi, it knew where I
was, had a map of my area, with the satellite photorgraphs, all the way
from Baltimore to NYC and then all the way zoomed to individual street
blocks in Capetown SA and looking for gas stations, and then Stavanger,
Norway and zoomed in all the way and found restaurants too. I'd never
looked at these places on any map, let alone this phone, and it went too
fast to be dl'ing now from wifi! And the files in the "phone" as
oppoed to SD were the same number and size as before I looked at
Capetown and Norway: On the internal memory there were still
only 6 files in the maps cache totalling 193KB !!!! and the other
folder was the same too.

So the Card slot will hold a microSD, up to 32 GB.

Will a 32 gig card help or does the internal memory mess me up just as
much as now? It's a Huawei Fusion U8652.

**It has no SIM card now and I can't test calling becuase I can't dl any
new apps!

Thanks for any help you can give.

I think I went over the unwritten length limit to actually get people to
read a post.

So in short, if a the phone spec says it has for
internal memory only 256 MB RAM, 512 MB
and is running android v 2.3.5,
and everything else on it works,

Is it worth spending $10 for a 32 Gig SD card. (It has a 2G card now.)

Will that allow more apps to be dl'd or will the 256/512MB RAM
limitation mess me up.

Actually I don't really know how much internal memory I have.

The spec at gsmarena says 256 MB RAM, 512 MB .
Does that mean one or the other, depending on how they made it? Or
something more subtle?

The storage section of Settings says
    Internal SD card:
        Total space 17.96MB.
        Available Space 17.64MB

    Internal Storage,
        Available Space 5.96MB

All of these numbers are so much smaller than 256MB. What does all this
mean?

I don't think I could bear to run such an old version (no security
fixes, must look very "old hat", tiny RAM and flash just cause endless
hassle).

But back when I did run that version, rooting and using apps2sd was the
way to go, but it's not likely to be fast.

If the phone has a worthwhile camera and if the camera can store the
pictures it takes onto the external SD card, then yes, sure, it's worth it.

But parlaying your $10 (or less, preferably) into making a decent camera
out of your phone is about the only useful thing I can think you'll be able
to use the external SD card for with that phone.

Still, I could be wrong; after all, what do I know :-) ? Cheers, -- tlvp

In that section (Settings->DEVICE->Storage) it hopfully also says
"Phone Storage". If so, what does it say after that, i.e. which number
and which unit, i.e. for example "4.00 GB total".

And BTW - at least for newer Android versions (than 2.3.5) - the
Internal storage" section should have more numbers than you posted.
Please post *exactly* what it says, i.e. from the words "Internal
storage" all the way down till (probably) "Erase internal storage".

No.

You can barely run any app with so small internal memory.

Get a real phone if you want to do something more than place calls.
