Do you have the ADB Driver installed? In your PC that is. But to work with the phone. If so, which one? Do you know where you got it? Or what length it is? That would be really goood to know.

I have a file called ADBDriverInstaller. But it's 11 meg and I got it from some random place on the web. I also have a file called the same thing and it came with the Mobizen app and it's 1/30the size, 323KB long. It's hard to believe they do the same thing. When I click on the short one, nothing seems to happen, but when I got outside Mobize, there are quite a few of them of different lengths, one by Samsung for example called Samsung_Android_USB_Drive that's 16 megs, and one on the same page called iirc universal adbdriver.zip that is 9megs. I haven't been able to find any forum for Mobizen. > I just have an ADB executable v1.0.31 > >> If so, which one? Do you know where you got it? >> Or what length it is? It's quite likely some installers come with bundled pre-requisites, and others expect you to to already have them ...

The adb module itself is not large, fairly trivial in size, though I don't remember specifically how small it is. You can get adb in two places. Once place is in some linux distros, either as adb or something I don't remember because last time I installed it I just downloaded the whole IDE. The search key you want is "Android Studio". Android Studio provides the whole Android IDE so you can write your own apps, and adb is just a debugging tool that comes with the IDE as a utility. -- http://totally-portable-software.blogspot.com [Sat Mar 26: "Documentation and Portability"]

The adb utility needs to be able to talk to your USB-connected Android device. If the computer where you are running adb cannot talk to the USB device the Android phone would appear to be when plugged in with a something-to-USB cable, it can't work. > > ***WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, I'm running Process Monitor and it does a Query > Directory for both ADBDriverinstaller and adbdriverinstaller_64, and > it's a sucess! > > Listing only this first entry and failure entries: > > Create file adb.dll Success > .... > AVG CreateFileMapping adb.dll File Locked with only Reader > SyncTypeCreateSection Page Protection Page_Read_Only (twice) > Mobizen Create file mapping adb.dll File Locked with only Reader > SyncTypeCreateSection Page Protection Page_Read_Only (twice) > Mobizen RegQueryValue HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\current > version\Image File Execution Options\DIINXOptions\ADBl.dll > Name not found > .... > Mobizen CreateFile C:\programs\Mobizen\Mobizen\dat\adb Name not > found, but it must have created it because next it puts adb.exe in > it. > .... > AVG CreateFileMapping adb.exe File Locked with only Reader > SyncTypeCreateSection Page Protection Page_Read_Only (twice) > Mobizen RegOpenKey HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\current > version\Image File Execution Options\DIINXOptions\ADBl.dll > Desired Access QueryValue; Enumerate Sub Keys > ..... > Mobizen RegOpenKey HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session > Manager\AppCertsDll Reparse Desired Access: Query Value > and it continues. > > Any ideas what is wrong! Thanks anyhow. I appreciate your looking at it. The successes mean to me the problem is not the *total* absence of adb. But I don't know what causes the apparent failures I list, or even if they are the problem.
