#32377 — Clock For Dock

Apologies if my terminology is wrong, I am talking about the bar at the
bottom of each screen which Apple calls the dock on OS X.

I would like a LIVE clock to sit there so whatever screen I am on I can
glance at it and see the time. The nearest I have got is a live clock
widget which is fine on a screen but won't go in the dock (presumably
because it's a widget).

Running Android 5.1, any suggestions?

There is a toolbar at the top of the screen no matter what app I open
with the exception of watching movies but even then I can swipe down to
see the toolbar. What's wrong with that clock?

If the app uses the full screen, just swipe down from the top to show
notifications to also show the toolbar to see the time. In fact, when
viewing a panel which shows the clock/weather widget, the time is shown
twice: once in the widget and again in the toolbar (example pic:

It's usually called the dock on Android too.

This is a feature of the launcher app (launcher is the app that handles
your home screens, dock, app drawer). I suppose the stock launcher
usually doesn't allow widgets in the dock but you can replace the
launcher (and there are many, I've only used Nova but not recently until
now).

From
http://www.tested.com/tech/android/461722-how-use-nova-launcher-build-android-home-screen-your-dreams/
it looks like Nova Launcher has the ability. With a quick try it may
take some fiddling since the dock seems to squish the widget's size
somewhat so you may need a clock that doesn't have any extra info on
it. The clock widget I happened to have in my phone puts location in
text below the clock and it makes the widget a little high for the dock.

Alternatively, Nova can also disable the dock altogether so you then can
use that area for widgets that don't get squished to the dock's
height. Or make the dock higher...

Oh, I wonder what's wrong with having the time on the notification bar
on top of the screen since that's usually the default?

Thanks for the responses :-)

I find the time at the top of the screen to be too small to read at a
glance. I was taught to tell the time on an analogue clock when I was
about 5 I think and I find it much easier to tell the time with a quick
glance at such a clock!

A wristwatch does what you require.
It tells you the time at a glance, and is big enough to read.

Some things just don't require fixing/replacing, they are not broken.

I don't wear one, I just want something on my Android device(s).

You've shown what a completely moronic smartass you are by blaming the
OP for stupidity, now how about answering his question, dipshit?

Wow, you really are a complete and utter moron.
Utterly too stupid to ever understand what I wrote.

Your response requires no answer other than complete ridicule.
