#150518 — Google and Gemini

I have a Samsung Galaxy A16.
Every time that I press the power button I now get this screen asking
me to turn on Gemini. How do I get rid of this screen and restore the
original functionalities of the power button?
I understand that by simultaneously pressing the power and volume down
buttons I get the original functions, but would prefer getting rid of
this Gemini screen...

Can you switch assistants from Gemini to Google Assistant?

Settings -> Google assistant, scroll down to Digital assistant, select
Gemini or Google assistant.

Isn't there a search function in Android settings?

I was able to find Digital Assistant. It shows that the recommended AI
assistant is Google. No other choice is possible.

I noticed that in Settings -> Apps there is one called Gemini.
Disabling it does not solve the issue. There does not seem to be a way
to uninstall it.

Ask an AI how to disable/uninstall Gemini in Samsung Galaxy A16

A short press of the 'power' button (read: Side button), should only
turn off/on the display, so you probably do a 'Long press'.

On my Samsung Galaxy A56, the 'Long press' can be set to your default
Digital assistant - in my case only 'Google' (Gemini) - or to Bixby or
to the 'Power off menu'. It seems you want the latter choice.

Settings -> Advanced features -> Side button -> Long press

Thanks Frank. That's exactly what I wanted.

  You're welcome.

Just to come back to VanguardLH's suggestion to do a search in
Settings. That's exactly what I did. I did a search on 'power', because
that's what most people (and you) commonly call the button, the 'power
button', and the second of the 'Top hits (2)' mentions/links_to the
'Side button'. So searching the Settings on a sensible keyword can be
worth your while.
