I have a 'generic' 7" tablet running 4.0.4 which I use on and off for
checking things, as an E-reader, as a phone when I can't find my Moto
E, etc.
It has (supposedly) 512k RAM, 8Gb DDR memory and I have a 32Gb SD card
plugged in.
I've installed very few apps - Kindle, Overdrive (another reader), a
couple of terminal apps to run SSH and a bank app and that's all.
I just tried to install a WiFi analyzer app and it said there was not
enough space.
On looking at storage I see:-
System storage total space 503Mb
Apps 404Mb
Available 56.73Mb
Internal storage total space 5.68Gb
Apps 103Mb
Downloads 1.73Mb
Available 5.44Gb
SD Card 31.24Gb
Available 31.23Gb
So it's the "system storage" that's running out. I've looked through
the various apps' cache but there's very little used there. Where's
it all going and how can I free some up?
It's a fairly 'gash' device so I could risk rooting it but as it's
generic I'm not sure how easy that would be. I can get the tablet
into EngineerMode.
In 'About Tablet' it says:-
Model number: F7HD
Android version: 4.0.4
Kernel version: 3.0.13 android@ubuntu#1
Build number: ALPS.ICS2.MP.V1.9
