SubjectI got my first advert message via RCS
Message-ID<mfeplmxno1.ln2@Telcontar.valinor>
My ISP originated it. They used something called "RCS for business".

Interestingly, answering is not blocked, but I will not try.

Surprise, surprise! Typical for Google "solutions". They forced that
RCS-crap into the market.

Threaten to sue your ISP for unsolicited advertising.

The Swiss operators still do not offer RCS and as you prove there are
good reasons not to do so.

https://rcsforbusiness.google/

Looks oriented to advertising, not to include customer support.

Typical anglo-saxon advertising bullshit. Indigestible.
Google is evil.

First, I do not want to.

I possibly accepted or even signed a paper accepting them, and finding
the address to unsubscribe is not easy. You can register in the Robinson
List, which might work, or may not, if they understand that you signed
for them.

There are other SMS streams that are a nuisance. I just mark them as
Spam and way they go.

I get it that RCS allows "good things" when dealing with charges for MMS,
but for those of us who use WhatsApp for MMS (particularly for videos),
what is the perceived advantage of RCS, given it's a Google monopoly?

I'm tempted to ignore any possible advantages, since they appear to be
unlikely to accrue to me. My view is that I don't care, since it's
compatible with SMS in that a message sent to a recipient who can't
receive RCS is always going to get the message anyway. Or, at least,
that's my understanding.

The most important advantage is that they are gratis, contrary to the
equivalent that is MMS (not SMS).

That's a consideration in Europe, not in North America.

I see no reason to disable them.

And you can easily encrypt the messages, If you like to do so,
with your communication partners.

Ah, yes. Even if some suspect the quality of the encryption, it stops

Well, ChaCha20 from DJB should do the trick. ;-)

I am working on a new Version and will test it on Android (PlugMate)
as well, but this can take a little while.
