I will check about 2 2G/GSM was the first digital standard, and it was often the case that devices would always support it (e.g. for fallback) besides some newer standards. If you want to discontinue older standards, it makes sense to retain 2G, as at least that'd be a safety net for devices which can't use the newer standards anymore. I mean, even if it is slated for switch-off in some places already, it does make sense that e.g. 3G gets sunset before 2G. -- Nuno Silva
