#35024 — Samsung Galaxy Tab: Android 6.0.1 text input centring

My Galaxy Tab updated to Android 6.0.1 a couple of days ago. There
is one highly undesirable (to me) change: now, every time I tap a
cell in the Daily Sudoku puzzle, the screen slides so as to roughly
centre the selected cell in the visible area of the screen. This
causes some of the puzzle to slide out of sight.

Presumably there must be a way to turn this feature off, but I can't
see where to do so, and I can't think of the correct search terms,
so Google doesn't help.

Can anyone point me to the right place, please?

Dave

Would zooming out so that even a decentered puzzle remains all on-screen
help in any measurable way? Or can't that even be done?

It can be done, but then it becomes challenging to read the "pencil
marks", which are in a much smaller font.

Ah, the law of Conservation of Problematicity strikes again :-) . Pity.
Good luck sorting this out. Cheers, -- tlvp
