  Yes, put this part of the thread *is* about backup, not about getting
inside the information/file(s).

  As I mentioned elsewhere [1] in the (sub-)thread, both backing up and
exporting SMS/MMS messages and contacts is *not* a problem on Android.
There are umpteen apps that do that kind of thing.
