I bought a USB hub for my LG G3 which lets me transfer files from SD cards to flash drives to internal storage. No permissions problems that I've encountered. When I travel, I always make a backup of my tourist photos, and keep them on separate cards. My last trip was the first time I relied on my new smartphone. The hub let me copy my SD card to a separate flash drive. It worked perfectly! Twenty dollars, maybe less. This is what I got, I can't recommend the device more highly: http://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Adapter-Compact-Compatible-Smartphones/dp/B00OCBXIY8/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1438782043&sr=8-5&keywords=usb+hub+inateck
