Long proven. Higher SOCs mean higher chemical and thermal stress for the
battery. The time to charge from 80% to 100% takes as long as from 20%
to 80%. That gives you an indication how stressful these last 20% are.
Higher charging levels also mean more anode plating whereas low levels
below 10% mean cathode plating. Both states mean faster degredation.
Li-NMC-batteries feel most comfortable around 50% SOC (State of Charge).

That works with smartphones, lawn mowers, E-Bikes, BEVs and a lot more
items with rechargeable batteries we use every day.
