From the «emulate me, baby» department: Title: Huge collection of old operating systems Author: Thom Holwerda Date: Fri, 06 Jun 2014 18:17:41 -0400 Link: http://osnews.com/story/27772/Huge_collection_of_old_operating_systems This site calls itself 'the biggest free abandonware downloads collection in the universe'. No idea if that's true or not, but all I can say is that I spent a lot - a lot - of time today browsing through the incredibly extensive collection of old operating systems. From an alpha release of Windows 1.0 to NEXTSTEP, this site has it all. Great for emulators.

I should mention that the actual site is vetusware.com - osnews.com is a clickbait site.

It's a news aggregator, same as Slashdot and others. I've been reading them since '00 or '01 and it's halfway decent, but slipping. It was started by a woman intimately connected to the BeOS scene, but they cover news of all OSes. The past couple of years the lead editor has been focusing on mobile, and the site has always had an unholy fascination with critiquing user interfaces. They're losing readers and probably money, so I see more and more ads in their site now, which is too bad - it will look like www.linuxtoday.com. Now *that's* a clickbait site, a shadow of its former (awesome) self back in '01.
