Last week Canonical announced that Ubuntu would ship on handsets from two
companies, BQ and Meizu, later this year. This week at MWC in Barcelona the
hardware was on display—or at least, prototype hardware was.

I wonder what kind of spyware Ubuntu Phone ships with. I am guessing
they have partnered with Amazon at least.

I wrote off Ubuntu once they introduced their spyware. Shuttleworth's
comment that went something like "We already have root" was the final
straw.

Mark and Canonical have certainly been doing a good job of pissing off
their clients and user-base in the name of "innovation." I'm skeptical
of them, to say the least. But where phone interface software is
concerned, I'm more worried they'll just barf on the user experience -
I'd be interested in trying one of these things.

There's an article out there recently by some guy who tried out the new
Firefox phone and found it awful. Unusable, in fact. I wonder if
that's not what Ubuntu will do too.

Guess I'd give them a try, but my expectations are set low.
