Hi, Been looking at various offerings at LinITX - but it's always hard to estimate the practical throughput of various systems. Can anyone recommend anything where the NICs and CPU are upto the job? I'm after something with 2 gig ports that can be driven at 80% or better of the line speed in practice (and not 20-30% as with a cheap and nasty NIC chipset). 1/2 - 1 GB RAM, small SSD (2-4GB) and VGA/USB. I'd prefer to run debian on it as it's easier to keep updated than OpenWRT. At the same time I'm after bombproof hardware. Small and routerlike format would be good. This will be routing 2 private VLANs (and I'd like the inter VLAN routing to go as near to gig speed as reasonably feasible), it will route some public IPs, handle NAT and firewalling (inc content filtering) for VDSL at upto 80Mbit/s. Possible options may include: LT360 Jupiter 1.6Ghz Atom Thin Client I'm not discounting maybe one of the systems that are optimised for pfSense or m0n0wall but I've not found one with gig nics yet... Cheers! Tim

(spell check that, I never get the p's and c's right). They specialize in that sort of hardware: mini-ITX systems for signage, industrial applications, fanless, low power consumption, etc. I haven't bought from them but they're the first place I go to 'window-shop' while I wait for my current system to bite the dust.
