[image 2][1]In curious move that remains unexplained, Apple[3] Senior Vice
President of Design Jonathan Ive was removed from Apple's online list of top
management[4] early Monday morning. The page, which lists all of Apple's top
executives along with photographs and bios, has no other changes. Ive
oversees Apple's industrial design group and has led the teams responsible
for designing numerous Apple devices as well as the firm's latest mobile
software renovation[5], iOS 7[5]. Ive has played a major role in designing
several of Apple's most iconic products including the iMac, the MacBook Air,
the iPod, the iPad[6] and Apple's chief moneymaker, the iPhone[7]. As noted
by MacRumors[8], last year Apple removes SVP Bob Mansfield from its executive
page and from the rest of its website, and it was later revealed that
Mansfield was stepping down from his executive role to work on special
projects.

That would be a bit of a shame. I always viewed Jony as the spiritual
successor of Steve - they even dress the same! Tim Cook seems more
like a numbers man which is fine and dandy, but this is the type of
individual that has overseen the downfall of many computer makers.

Whatever happened, it's doubtful if we will get any real news from
Apple about this. While I have been an Apple user since I was in third
grade (when we got our IIGS) it can be difficult to know anything for
certain with that company.

I guess as long as they are making the nicest Unix workstation OS out
there I will be happy.
