[image 1] Forget tablets in the airplane cabin -- Virgin Atlantic thinks
wearables are where it's at for improving your travel experience. The airline
has begun trialing a greeting system that uses Google Glass and Sony's
Smartwatch 2 to streamline the airport...

Great, because that's my main complaints with flying: the greeter
doesn't know my names. The overbooked airlines, tiny seats, long wait
times on the runway because the airports are overcrowded, the constant
nickle-and-diming for basic ammenities, and (in the US) increasingly
obtrusive "security" are minor inconveniences in comparison.

So I sure am glad Virgin is wasting money on this rather than giving
me enough leg-room so the blood can circulate down to my toes. They
sure know what will improve my "travel experience"!

Ha ha - great answer. Better still, while you're juggling trying to
prevent your pants from dropping while your belt is scanned, your boots
are in a bag, your stuff is all over the conveyor belt, etc. the TSA
rep with the white plastic gloves can be filming you from his smarmy
face and his Google Glass.

No one talks about flying the friendly skies anymore.

Oy... and the TSA person's Glass will be equipped with the old "X-Ray Vision" glasses that were advertised in the backs of comic books, along with the Charles Atlas muscle-building program and the super mini Spy Cameras. Come to think of it, the TSA might be investing in all of those elite technologies!
