I want to write a letter to my MP. Need to find something in Handsard
(the official parliamentary record).

Call up Handsard search in Firefox. Results don't appear - seems it's
broken.

Try Internet Explorer, ditto.

Try Chrome. Ok, that works. Found the relevant item.

Damn! That menu on the left that moves down when it would otherwise
scroll off the page it's very irritating - it's like having someone
constantly waving at you just to your left when you're trying to read.
Must tell the Parliemantary web site people about that. In the mean time
- download the PDF.

Opens in Chrome's PDF viewer. I don't know how to search in that. I want
it to open Acrobat Reader.

Call up Chrome settings. Nothing obvious.

So a Google search on how to make it use the system reader. Apparently I
have to go to settings, advanced settings, security and privacy (Huh?),
then content settings.

OK. Wait, there's no content settings. Scream. Tear hair out. Post to
comp.misc. Attempt to put hair back in.

Fine, I'll find the file using computer explorer, and open it that way.

Just as well I know how to use computers.

Sylvia.
