Caught this on hackernews today; it's pretty neat: http://optional.is/required/2013/09/25/cern-line-mode-browser/ is the story of one of the original browsers developed for the WWW at CERN. Look towards the bottom of the page to a link that emulates the original experience in a modern browser, slowing down the text using javascript and some tricks: http://line-mode.cern.ch/www/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html I tried it and it filled me with nostalgia (and a sense of gratefulness my browser is better than my serial connection these days). Finally, I found the whole thing through this link from hacker news, about how they recreated the font. http://optional.is/required/2014/03/26/meyrin-cern-terminal-font/ It's a pretty font, I think. I had some business cards printed up, just for the hell of it, earlier this year. And I used the graphic of an old DEC terminal and printed it in the GlassTTY font. You can get to it via http://blog.fosketts.net/2010/01/25/stupidly-cool-terminal-fonts/ Party like it's 1985!
