"http://www.deepdotweb.com/2014/02/13/silk-road-2-hacked-bitcoins-stolen- unknown-amount/" Either the admins and staff of the site were incredibly stupid (you don't leave all the doors and windows open at your version of Fort Knox) or are behind the theft of an as yet undetermined quantity of Bitcoin. The failure bears uncanny similarity to the Mt.Gox fiasco in that they lay the blame on the Bitcoin protocol yet said protocol has had the flaw they are highlighting from its inception and it is both very well known and warned about by Bitcoin developers. Use of official Bitcoin clients fully mitigates the flaw...it would seem that like Mt.Gox they crafted their own system and the known flaw was not mitigated within it.
