If the two programs have significant differences, xrandr should be
considered correct because xdpyinfo may be broken for stupid reasons.

Opened 2009 and many years of "this is not a bug" / "yes it is".
Maybe the developers have recanted?

I tested on a computer with a really old OS, selected because it matches
the one used for servers at $JOB.
