I agree taking down the oil industry would bring about the end of
western civilization.  But I think this is simply about trying to crack
into systems that belong to industries likely to have money.  If you and
your baddies had to choose between hacking some little NGO or hacking
Exxon, you'd probably decide Exxon was the juicier target.

On the other hand, Exxon would probably have better systems in place and
better armed lawyers ready to rip you a new asshole ...
