Though some things plugged into the breadboard have solder on them. In 
extremis, one could have the entire thing on a soldered PCB, and just 
have the power supply go into the breadboard, so it's only a matter of 
degree.

All power to him though - I've never managed to get anything like that 
many breadboard connections to work at the same time. My limit's 
probably about 10, and that's if I'm lucky.
