It had to use the cellphone network, I don't think Bell was stringing up wifi nodes everywhere. She got a little usb thing that provided the interface. I don't know what she paid, but she said it was "expensive", the monthly rate that is. SOmewhere I got the impression it wasn't all that fast, but i'm not sure whether she said something or I got it from somewhere else. I tried it once, when I got my Blackberry Playbook I had to register at Blackberry, but on dialup I couldn't get to their website. So her internet access was faster, but I never used it enough to know whether it wsa fast or not. Is it still being offered? I don't know, I haven't seen it advertised in a while, but I did back when she had it (which was up to October of 2012). Michael
